KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Erol Gelenbe

Fellow of IEEE and ACM, of the National Academy of Technologies of France and of the Polish Academy of Sciences, founded the field of performance evaluation of computer systems and networks in Europe. Currently a Professor at Imperial College, and Member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, he impacts the European telecoms and computer industry by creating and fostering technical groups within industry labs, and through technology transfer including patented designs, and modelling and simulation software.

His recent collaborations with the cyber-industry includes projects with Deutsche Telekom, Cosmote, Telecomitalia, BT, Televes and Huawei, and software companies such as Hispasec, Exus, QoS Design, ATOS and IBM. He is involved in numerous EU projects, and is currently part of the H2020 GHOST and KONFIDO projects in the area of cybersecurity. In 2017, he served as a consultant to the European Commission for the High Level Group report on Cybersecurity.

Jean-Luc Moliner

Senior Vice President, Head of Group Security, Orange. He has a long career path in the French ministry of defense with operational and technical responsibility including Regiment Commander and Head of Sigint Division. After leaving the MoD, he joined AIRBUS Defence has Vice President Sales & Marketing in the Business Unit Homeland security, during 6 years dealing mainly with G2G contracts in Middle east, North Africa and Asia. Since 2011, he is Senior Vice President, Head of the Group security department in Orange Group and covers security in IT and networks, physical security and Business Continuity Management, in the 35 telcos operators.

He is graduated from the Saint-Cyr Military academy, the “Ecole Nationale supérieure des télécommunications” and the War College. He is member of the Fraud and security Panel of the GSMA, President of the security working group of the French telecommunications operators association and of member the “Académie des technologies”.

Dries Van Dyck

Dries Van Dyck is the Information Security Officer at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre. He is responsible for identifying, assessing and analyzing the information security risks at the research centre and adapting the information security architecture and policies accordingly. After his Ma degree in computer science in 1998, he performed academic research in theoretical computer science until 2010 for which he obtained a PhD in 2004. In 2010, he joined the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre to develop ultrasonic instrumentation for the MYRRHA reactor an accelerator driven system cooled with lead bismuth eutectic which is currently in development to replace the aging BR-2 research reactor.

His strong background in R&D makes him strive towards the right balance between enforcing information security and providing the flexible environment required for scientists and engineers to do their experiments.

ABOUT Euro-CASE

The European Council of Academies of Applied Sciences, Technologies and Engineering is an independent non-profit organisation of national academies of Engineering, Applied Sciences and Technology from 23 European countries. It was founded in 1992 upon French initiative by the members of CADAS (Conseil pour les Applications de l’Académie des Sciences). The Executive Committee meets four times a year. The Board meets once a year. Euro-CASE acts as a permanent forum for exchange and consultation between European Institutions, Industry and Research.
